Shout out to Tobias_rieper for this one!
Three spins into this album and all I ended up repeating to myself was “I hope that more people hear this band!” Boru deserves it! This album is a 10/10 for me!

Blackened sludge with post-metal sensibilities. This stuff is heavy and far removed from the usual sludge doom fare. Quite unique. Their groovy and uptempo parts are electrifying; the doomy parts elicit an emotional response or unearth memories long since forgotten but twisted out of shape. 2nd track is a meditative drone to prepare you for the next assault. The beginning of the last one is spooky. The last ambient bit even made me think of рожь. tr_🇺🇦
AOTY for me
Paradoxically, this is such a soft and soothing album. The way the guitars and synth are EQed and mixed create a plush, warm blanket of emotion. When I listen to the melodies and chord progressions, I feel a sense of security and respite. This is solace reified in sonic form. This is an immersion in painfully hot yet relaxing water. This is safety found within the unknown. This is...heavenly form honestly. One man's hell is another man's heaven I guess. benmoshin
